A feeding bra needs to work at 3am with one hand, not just look good in daylight. Ours use simple clip or drop-cup access, soft cotton with no wire, and a fit that stays comfortable through the weeks your size is changing week to week — not just the first day you wear it.

What actually matters in a feeding bra

Easy one-hand access — a clip or drop-cup you can undo without waking a sleeping baby or needing a second hand free. No wire — a wired bra can restrict milk flow and isn't necessary for support during this stage. Room to change — feeding bras need to fit comfortably as size fluctuates through the day and across weeks, so a slightly looser everyday fit works better than a snug one.

Nursing bra vs. maternity bra — not quite the same thing

A nursing or feeding bra is built for easy breastfeeding access, with clips or drop cups — this is what our range focuses on. A maternity bra is built for a growing bump during pregnancy and doesn't always include nursing access. If you're pregnant and not yet nursing, our soft, non-wired everyday range works well through most of pregnancy; once you're feeding, the clip-access styles here are built for that specific stage.

Fit through a changing few months

Size can shift noticeably in the weeks after birth, more than it typically does otherwise. Buying one size with some room, rather than a snug fit on day one, usually holds up better through the adjustment period. If you're unsure, a slightly looser band with a properly fitted cup is the safer starting point.

Can I wear a nursing bra during pregnancy too? Yes — most nursing bras work fine before birth as a comfortable, non-restrictive option, even without using the clip access yet.

Is underwire safe while nursing? Wire isn't recommended during active breastfeeding, since it can put pressure on milk ducts. A well-constructed wire-free bra with a firm band gives support without that risk.

How many nursing bras do I actually need? Most people find 3–4 enough to rotate through washing and daily wear, given how often they're worn during this stage.

I'm having breast pain or discomfort during pregnancy — is that normal? Some tenderness and change is common as the body prepares for feeding, but persistent or unusual pain, itching, or discomfort is worth mentioning to your doctor rather than guessing from a size or fabric change alone.
